The Dev Team has released a patch that converts the tethered jailbreak into an untethered one! You can find the patch here.

The patch needs to be applied directly to the LLB without decrypting it first, using “bspatch” or equivalent. The resulting IMG3 should have this SHA1:

SHA1(LLB.n72ap.RELEASE.img3) = 82734c7cdf945ba5421b83962aab3ab91e4fb23a

This is all we have until the Dev Team releases new updates to PwnageTool and QuickPwn. If you would like to read up on the exploit go here. You can find a tutorial on how to jailbreak your iPod by searching Google, there are even many GUI’s out now that promise easy jailbreaking, although I haven’t tested any.

The iPatch will no longer be supported on our repository.

Why? Well, Apple is trying to find a reason to make jailbreaking illegal and we are doing everything we can to make sure they dont find that reason. iPatch’s are just modified files from Apple that I was putting my name on and releasing in Cydia, and thats illegal, in the efforts to keep our phones and iPods jailbreakable, the iPatch’s will no longer be available on our repo.

Help the EFF free our phones!

I now proudly part of the PwnCenter team! I have slowly started to move my packages into the new repo, and once all the packages have been moved my repo will update and setup the PwnCenter repo automatically! My packages will also be reorganized into proper sections.

A new app recently surfaced that allows you to create and delete blanks very easily, therefore we will no long be supporting blanks on our repository.

Steffwiz.com now has a “Midnight Blue” theme instead of the old “Grassy Green”. I’ve been working with the site a lot and changing different elements of the theme and haven’t had time for very much Cydia work.

To make that even better, my email (the one with all the theme requests) was erased and I lost all my requests. I am doing what I can to recover the lost data, but it would be great if people could start sending me more requests so I have something to work on.

As always, if you see a package in Cydia without a screenshot and would like to help, take one and send it over! I am also looking for full-time theme makers to help me make themes as well as keep a steady flow of new themes into Cydia.

I’ve been getting emails that my All Sources package has been giving errors, I’ll be looking at this soon and posting with more info.

UPDATE: Yep, some source is causing the error, “Unmet Dependency”.
UPDATE: It’s all fixed up, seems a source I thought was in Cydia, wasnt.

You may have heard that Niklas Schröder is no longer developing in the Cydia scene.  There is a very large story behind his decision that I will not get into.  Many people are disappointed that Niklas is no longer a Cydia developer. He had many great themes!  With his permission I am going to host some of his packages on my repository and continue to fill the large list of requests people left him. I also plan on providing support for those packages that I now host.  Niklas, you will be missed!
